Head Trainer

Cara Anthony was raised on a 130-acre ranch in Bellevue, Idaho where her mother bred registered quarter horses for racing.  She entered and won her first horse show at age seven and has been a Grand Prix show jumper and trainer since 1984.

Trained at Hunterdon with George Morris (1977-1980)

·         Represented the United States on the European Junior Nations Cup team

·         Won reserve in the AHSA Maclay finals at Madison Square Garden, New York

Trained at Flintridge with Jimmy Williams and Susie Hutchinson (1983-1984)

·         Competed on the West Coast show circuit and assisted in the schooling of Jimmy’s young horses

Assistant at G&G Farms (1984-1989)

·         Worked for Rob Gage (1985 Rider of the Year) and Cindy Grossman at their 50 horse show barn at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center

·         4th in the Grand Prix “Rookie of the Year” standings (1985) and top 15 in “Horse & Rider of the Year” standings (1989 and 1990)

·         Schooled young horses for a leading Southern California sales barn before moving to Seattle

Assistant Trainer

Laina Paterson was born in Seattle and began riding at the age of six. She developed from the pony hunters through the equitation and jumpers while competing on the northwest circuit. Laina’s passion for horses developed throughout life. She was captain of the University of St. Andrews Riding team and finished first individually in Scotland in 2004. While attending college, Laina was able to spend time training and showing young jumpers in Belgium.

Situated on 20-acres near downtown Redmond, Washington, Potcreek Meadow Farm is one of the premier hunter/jumper facilities in the Northwest:

·         33 stalls in three barns (12'x12' with skylights and rubber mats)

·         72'x180' indoor riding arena

·         200'x300' grass Grand Prix field with elevated bank, open water, dry ditch, and devil's dyke

·         120'x240' all-weather outdoor arena with 'Nike Air' footing

·         100'x200' secondary outdoor arena

·         Large grass turn-outs, wood fencing, and covered run-ins

·         Large tack rooms, wash rack, and heated grooming racks

·         Onsite trainer's residence with a 100 year-old apple orchard and a 1/4 mile of salmon stream

·         Back gate opening onto a park and miles of scenic trails

·         Comfortable office and viewing areas with cable TV and WIFI internet
